Citizenship Day

When: September 16 - 18, 2009

Place: Washington D.C.

This year, Citizenship Day falls on September 17, a strategic time during the legislative and policy debate in Congress for immigration reform, health reform and workers' rights --- three issues of importance for the Korean American community. As history has taught us, periods of tremendous hardships and instability can pave the road for change. The 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest and subsequent anti-immigrant wave that swept Congress awakened Korean Americans on the need to be politically vocal and engaged. Citizenship Day is an extension of these lessons learned and the opportunity for Korean Americans, young and old, first and second generation, to Join us and Korean Americans from across the country for the 2-day celebration in Washington D.C. and let us pave the road for social justice together.

Date: September 16-18, 2009
Location: Washington D.C.
Registration Deadline: August 7, 2009
Participation Fee: $250 (includes transportation, lodging and meals)
